General Function

Under supervision, assist with routine and non-routine administrative support for IWTC San Diego SSO services.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

 1.   Review SSO files, record message traffic and Joint Personnel Adjudication

       System (JPAS) database; or Defense Information System for Security (DISS) web application

       to determine current status of individual clearances and investigations.

 2.   Add/delete information in the JPAS/DISS, internal and external resource databases as directed.

 3.   Update the database on a regular basis and develop reports to satisfy higher level employee requirements.

 4.   Create/maintain personnel security files as directed.

 5.   Track the status of student security clearances, determine level of access authorized, and issue appropriate security badges to personnel in accordance with current

            instructions.

 6.   Check message traffic and JPAS/DISS daily to obtain the most current clearance status on all students.

 7.    Record results in local personnel security database and update student SSO files accordingly.

 8.   Advise SSO when clearance eligibility is received.

 9.   Conduct appropriate level security indoctrination briefings.

10.  Ensure appropriate indoctrination is recorded in JPAS/DISS.

11.  Conduct appropriate security indoc/debrief and check-in/check-out functions for incoming and departing staff and student personnel.

12.  Assist with managing the access control system (activating/deactivating badges).

13.  Assist with visitor control to include badge accountability.

14.  Prepare SSO Personnel Security files for mailing.

15.  Prepare request for ordering and maintaining a sufficient quantity of supplies and materials required by the SSO Department.

16.   Assist with the destruction of classified and Personnel Identifiable Information (PII) as directed.

17.   Assist with physical security requirements as necessary.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to organize.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Word, excel and work processing software skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Active DoD TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum six months to two years previous experience performing administrative duties.
  • SysCom, Inc. staff, executives and management.
  • Serves  as  liaison  between  department  and  other  departments  as  well  as  with  outside customers, regulatory personnel, and organizations, etc.  

Minimum Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum six months to two years previous experience performing administrative duties.
